Karnataka took three points against a hapless Goa side to inch ahead in the battle for Riyadh spots in Group A of the Hero Santosh Trophy today. With today’s 2-0 win, Karnataka lead the Group with 7 points.
Goa had one of the first chances of the game early in the first half, a long range freekick somehow evading everyone before rolling past the post. From there though it was one-way traffic, Karnataka doing enough to get the win and also register a clean sheet, their second of the competition.
Jacob John scored opened the account in 33rd minute, with Abhishek Powar adding another one in early second half.
Karnataka play their fourth game against Maharashtra on Friday, February 17 at OFA 7th Battalion Ground, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
