Airtel roped in as I-League’s Title Sponsor

Airtel has been roped in as the Title sponsor of the 2013-14 edition of the I-League. The 2013-14 Airtel I-League kicks-off on Saturday, September 21. 

Earlier, Airtel forayed in youth football thru Airtel Rising Stars (ARS), a nation-wide U-16 soccer talent in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. 

President of All India Football Federation (AIFF), Mr. Praful Patel welcomed the Telecom giants as the new Sponsor. “I welcome Airtel as the new Title Sponsor of the I-League. AIFF stays committed for the upliftment of the sport in the Country and we hope this marks the beginning of a new and long relationship.”

All India Football Federation General Secretary Mr. Kushal Das echoed the same sentiment. “The deal between AIFF and Airtel proves there are many takers for Indian Football. I welcome them to the I-League,” he stated.

Ashu Jindal, COO, IMG-Reliance said: “I’m happy to have Airtel as the Title Sponsor. This is a hugely motivating step for Indian Football.”

I-League CEO Mr. Sunando Dhar said: “This is very inspiring. Having Airtel as the Title Sponsor would provide the right impetus for the I-League.”
