JK Loganthan, former state footballer and Narendran, right
forward and former super division footballer passed away passed away on May 18
and 15 respectively.
Loganthan, 88, participated in the Santhosh Trophy from 1947 thru 50. During the 1948 National
Olympic camp at Chennai, he participated along with Olympians T Sanmugham, Ahmed
Khan and late Bhaseer of. However, Loganthan could not make it to the final Olympic team.
Loganthan played for
HAL for 15 years, also, captained HAL in 1952 Durand Cup at Delhi. He was
the promoter of Veterans Coaching Centre, Austin Town, Nandan Ground. He
left 5 sons and 3 daughters.
Narendran, 41, was suffering from brain tumor, and was severely
ill for last 4 months. He was the president of Oriental Football Club, Jeevanahalli,
Cox Town and played BDFA league from 1986 to 2011. In last season, he turned out
for his own, Club Oriental Football Club, a Super Division team now relegated
to B Division.
Narendran played for GTRE, a DRDO Team, Central Excise, and Government
Press. He used to run his club with great passion and nurtured several boys
from his locality to represent state. He left his wife and boy.
