South Africa-bound junior footballers

Two city-based footballers will accompany the under-16 Indian National team to South Africa. Anto Xavier from Southern Blues and Suhas Narayanaswamy from the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) is the part of the exposure trip promoted by the soft drink, giant Coca-Cola.

These lads got selected based on their stellar performance during the sub-junior national, Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy played last year. They will watch the Group A qualifying match between host, South Africa and Uruguay played at Pretoria, on June 17, 12 am India time.

The Indian contingent will be a part of the Coca-Cola International 2010 football camp, Tuks village, Pretoria and will participate in a football tournament comprising junior teams of the FIFA World Cup 2010 participating nations.

This is certainly a great opportunity for the junior players and a matter of pride for the Karnataka state and the football fraternity of Bangalore.
