The rookies from Chandigarh caused the major upset of the tournament by walloping 4 goals to the defending champions Karnataka. With this win Chandigarh books their berth to the final and Karnataka departs after showing lot of promises at the earlier stage.
It was a consistent performance by the Karnataka lads form the qualifier stage to the quarter-final round. However, the boys failed to deliver when it mattered most. Though the lads pulled one goal, but it was too late for the defending champs to get back to the game.
Chandigarh plays their final match on Sunday, June 27. In the 2nd semi-final played tomorrow, June 25, 2010, 3 pm, host Bengal, winner from Group B meets Uttarakhand, runner-up from Group A.
